G10

G10 is a fibergalss cloth with an epoxy binder laminated sheet. Introduced in the 1950's it has good tensile strength and is not electrically conductive. This is why it is most commonly used in PCB.

In windsurfing G10 is used for fins because it resists to impacts. The main advantage of this material is that it is CNC machined so the fin foils match perfectly what the designer CAD shaped. But the big disadvantage is its high strength. It is impossible to do small flexible fins without reducing the profile. Fin design with G10 is all about evaluating pros and cons.

At mb-fins we are always looking for the best material for each fin range and size.
